Marathon 2006

Got in from watching the marathon and thought I would upload a photo. Unfortunately I only thought to take one at the very end, these poor mites are the stragglers, in fact it was knackering just watching them, so I had to come in and have nice cup of tea and leave the lunatics to it outside.

My house is right by the ten mile mark, I think it even shows "Abi's house" on the official If-You-Want-to-Impose-Severe-Pain-and-Discomfort-to-Yourself-Run-the-Marathon Map.

Freedom

Nipped to Fuel Bar, Covent Garden for a friends birthday and then rocked up to Freedom in a rickshaw with my gorgeous girls Kam and Nik! Fun start to a fun night.

The night degenerated into a typical shot fest, it's not big and it's not clever, there are no winners in the Soho Shot Saloon.

Me in disco ball heaven up there and Libby just burning her bum on a little tea light, you divi! Clairey squatting slightly for the camera, nice move there love.

I remember some of Easter Bank Holiday, haha! What a corker. Look at the concentration it takes to polish a pair of shoes...

And here are some lovely women trying to climb into a fish ball in the Friendly Society. It's difficult, they spent all night trying.

Honda Ads

I went to see Russell Davies speak yesterday. He's an advertising planner and worked on the Honda account, bringing us the "Power of Dreams" concept. The guy was fascinating and the Honda story itself was insightful.

Here are a couple of ads, first the famous cog film. You know this was created using no special effects. A group of scientists were given three months to figure it out and then they filmed the sequence in a couple of days. The point of the film was to get across not only the feeling of things just working but working perfectly. The inspiration was how on super cool cd players, you press the eject button and then, schhhhhhhh, the cd is "proffered" to you.



And here is the Hate Something, Change Something ad campaign. A small annecdote; Russell knew that the voice over guy in the prior ads can sing, so they worked it in...

11 Restaurant Bar

Friday night we dined in 11 restaurant (http://www.ilove11.nl). The place had a massive warehouse type feel to it, with really high cealings, huge, dynamic, abstract projections onto white walls and graffiti plastered in the halls. The views of Amsterdam were phenomenal.

Yacht Racing

If you think we all look shattered, we are. My God, I was absolutely zonked. But what better way to get over 9 hours sleep in three days and the worst hangover than to scare the shear life out of yourself! I swear I had no clue of what was about to happen when this picture was taken, lol. The boat was racing along on it's side most of the time and Mariano (guy in red jacket) and I spent a large amout of time and energy just screaming like hell.

The Brucey Bonus was that our team won but I think we all dropped a few caquitas in the process! haha!

Supperclub

Went to the supperclub on Thursday night (http://www.supperclub.nl/). They have them in Rome, Amsterdam, San Francisco and I think that one just opened in London. It was such a gorgeous place and we had a really brilliant time hanging out and dancing with lot's of the friendly staff, including Jose, Mr Cool tats. After dinner we danced the night away on the tables with two faaaaaaabulous transvestites!

...And there are my boys trying to be gangsta with a napkin! Hehe cuties!
